Warm and Fuzzy

We all know what warm and fuzzy means... so when I started these mittens, I decided that would be the perfect name for them.  In a previous post Cabled Headband for Deb    you can see the beautiful headband. I wanted her to have the mittens to match. I had originally bought the softer of the two yarns, to make a cowl. But, after seeing the fuzziness coming off on my black pants, I realized that it would make a mess on a dark sweater. Deb wears a lot of darks, so I knew that would be an issue. Mittens to the rescue!

Love how they turned out!  The pattern I used was:

This pattern includes both straight needles and circular/dpn patterns.

It's an old favorite, and I use it almost all the time. I used both the shiny and the soft yarn together, which made very tightly knitted stitches. It became a little difficult with the bamboo needles, (size 4 US), and they actually warped a bit from the tension. I probably won't do another pair of double knits on those, will have to use something else next time.
